QuickSilver Technology in San Jose. July 2002-July 2003 - Dr. White was the Lead Technical Writer,developing user guides for the QuickSliver Technology Adaptive Computing Machine (ACM) nodes and architecture (reconfigurable microprocessor devices targeted to the mobile wireless industry). Consultant on controller design. Created three Assembly Language Reference Manuals (250+ pages each). Three Programmer's Guides. 43 other documents. Wrote validation code segments. Consulted on assembly language syntax design. Some marketing and training support. Independent Contractor.

Synopsys 4/1997 - 3/20/2002 Was one of the lead developers for the Synopsys eLearning version of Advanced Chip Synthesis and the new modular version. She was responsible for the storyboards (breaking the live class material into lesson modules and specifying links and pop-up sections, etc), the quiz question generation (for computer-graded lesson quizzes), the glossary generation, the FAQ pages on content and labs, the references collection, the generation of the audio script (for recording) and the coordination for the Beta class, scheduled for July 30th. Vitalect is the development partner. The class has been released and is on-line at www.Vitalect.com/synopsys.
A FREE demo has also been loaded at that address. (Note: This may be down now - I think the contract expired.)

She has served as a content developer for the Educational Training Services department of Synopsys, Inc. in Mountain View CA. She has served as the lead developer and Senior Staff Instructor for the Chip Synthesis workshop - design methodology for 6Million gates and bigger IC designs, and the CD Advisor for Advanced Chip Synthesis, Chip Architect and PrimeTime. She was a member of the Web-Based Training Tiger Team developing high-tech training for web delivery, and was responsible for helping to set the conversion flow and the processes for the conversion of live instruction technical workshops to eLearning format.

Donnamaie completed a Professional Certificate in Marketing Communications from UCSD in 1994 and obtained her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Master's degree in Engineering (MSEE) from UCLA in 1974 and 1969 respectively.

She has authored over 40 technical papers and dozens of technical seminars and user manuals on CAD modeling, fault detection, Boolean logic, bit-slice design, structured microprogramming, ASIC design and EDA-ASIC design flow methodologies. She is the past designer/developer and webmaster of of the IMP web site, the SIARC CBA on-line training website and an ASIC intranet site at AMCC. She also is the author of the following hard-cover texts:

Dr. White is currently the webmaster for a number of websites, including the Fabio International Fan Club. She is the author of the science-fiction romance novel Jettison.


Previous experience includes

 
  • Donnamaie was the Sr. Educational Developer/Webmaster for the former Internal Technical Training department of Synopsys, Inc. She was assigned to the DTG group to assist in the development of the ITT workshops for synthesis products - Design Compiler, Power Compiler, FPGA and Test and Verification. She was responsible for the Effective Training Workshop (train the trainer). She transferred to Internal Technical Training Department in October 1998. ITT folded and she joined the Content Development team in the Customer Education Department of Synopsys in 1999.

  • Prior to transferring to ITT, she was the Technical Training Manager for SIARC, maintaining and presenting the CBA Design System workshop. Dr. White joined Silicon Architecture of Synopsys as the CBA Training Manager for the CBA Design System and its suite of design tools and utilities in April, 1997. She developed the DS9805 Introductory CBA Design System Training.

  • Technical Publications Manager at IMP, Inc. from March 1995 to April 1997 and the Creative Webmaster for the IMP web site from 1995 to 1998. In addition to supporting the launch of the EPAC (Electrically Programmable Analog Circuit) devices, she supervised the datasheets and manuals for the 55T5XX series, and multiple foundry processes, supported trade shows, sales presentations, direct mail and advertising.

 

  • Director of Market Communications at AMCC in San Diego (3.5 years) and also the
    Director of Customer Documentation and Training at AMCC (10 years). AMCC manufactures Bipolar and BiCMOS ASIC arrays and authored the MacroMatrix array design support software. Dr. White participated in MacroMatrix software design, development, debug and documentation from 1984 to 1994. She was also responsible for software-library release coordination.

  • Director of Customer Education at AMD (4 years) supporting the Am2900 Bit-Slice architecture series and developing courses on structured microprogramming and microprogrammable computer architecture.
 


Dr. White has been a Boy Scout Leader for 15 years, serving as an Assistant Scout Master (high-adventure trained) and Troop Secretary for Troop 154 in Fremont, CA, and in various positions with BSA Cub Packs 614, 616, and BSA Troop 616 in Scripps Ranch, San Diego, CA. She was a Curved-Bar Girl Scout (equivalent to Eagle). Both of her sons have achieved Eagle Scout, the younger son also completed a Palm award (past Eagle).
